Mt. Watkins & Mirror Lake, Yosemite

Mirror Lake is only a shadow of what it had been in the 1950's and 1960's. If you go there in the summer it's mostly just beach with a trickle of water in Tenaya Creek flowing through. However, in mid winter (assuming we've had any rain or snowfall) you can still enjoy the "mirror" qualities from which it gets its name.

This shot was in February, 2012 on a clear afternoon with no wind to ruffle the surface of the water.
