Day 00 – Getting there

Getting to Iceland.  Moss covered Lava beds

Day 01 - Grindavik

Fishing village of Grindavik.  Cod and Grindavik Harbor

Day 02 – Arctic  Horses

Trail ride out to Grindavik Point on Arctic Horses

Day 03 - Blue Lagoon

Meeting our tour group. Geology of Iceland, Blue Lagoon in a hurricane, Old Grindavik Lighthouse, Reykjanes Point, Lava fields near Grindavik,  Selfoss

Day 04 – Ofusa Valley

Skalholt (Skalholtskirkja) Church in Laugaras, farming in Iceland, Gullfoss Falls, Strokkur (great) Geyser, Faxi Falls.

Day 05 – Waterfalls and Puffins

Coastal Plains, Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, Skogarfoss Waterfall, Puffins at Dyrholaey Headland, Sea Stacks, Reyniskirkja Church, Reynisdrangar (Black Sand Beach), basalt columns

Day 06 – Skaftafell National Park & Iceberg Beach

Skaftafell National park, Laki Lava Field, more moss covered lava flows, Kirkjubæjarklaustur & Sisters Waterfall, Svinafell Glacier, Svartifoss (black) Falls, flood plains, Hundafoss Falls, Jokulsarlon (Iceberg) beach.

Day 07 – Glacier Lagoon

Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon (aka Glacier Lagoon), Iceberg Beach (again). Road back to Vik, Svinafell Glacier, Foss a Sidu Waterfall, Kirkjubæjarklaustri Area, Icelandic floods

Day 08 – Into the Mountains

Leaving Vil and Aluvial Plains, Gljufurarfoss Falls, Thorvaldseyri Farm, wind power, Trollkonufoss falls, Mt. Hekla, Fiallabak Nature Preserve, Frostastaoavatn lake, Camp Landmannalaugar

Day 09 – Plains of Parliament

Lake Thingvallavatin, fissure between North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, The Plains of Parliament.

Day 10-12 part 1 - Walking Center Reykjavik

Buildings and architecture, gay pride on display

Day 10-12 part 2 -  Walking Center Reykjavik

Leifur Eriksson Plaza & Haligrimskirkja Church, maritime museum, Open Air Folk Museum, The Perlan, HARPA concert hall
