Did something happen to you recently? All of a sudden, instead of having a shoe box with 50 to 100 photos in it, you found yourself with thousands of images on your computer and no way to deal with them. These photos are now coming from your phone, your camera, your tablet, your friends and maybe even a high quality DSLR or mirrorless camera. So how do you keep track of them all, select the good ones and make them look better?  If you’ve decided to use Adobe’s powerful Lightroom product to manage and improve your photos but need some help to get started, give me a call.

I'm an award winning photographer with great teaching skills who can show you how to use and get the biggest bang for your buck from LR. My inexpensive one-on-one lessons are tailored to your skill level, usage, and can be as shallow or in depth as you like. These are in person, 1 on 1, private sessions.  I provide printed tutorials to augment what I show you in person. This is not on watching online training video's or a series of things you download and do on your own. This also not an webinar or a classroom full of people.  This is hands on sessions with you and your instructor which is always me, live and in person dealing with your needs, problems, issues and training.  Personally, I use LR to manage all my images (over 65,000 of them). I also use LR for over 98% of my image editing needs, only going over to other tools such as Photoshop for specialized work such as erasing tourists and telephone wires or making composite images.

Or, maybe you just need some help.  Perhaps over the years you've wound up with several catalogs each containing different or the same images in different states?  Maybe your fed up with the way your images are organized (or not organized) on your hard drive.  Perhaps, all of a sudden all your images seem to be missing.  Or, really anything in LR that is causing you problems, doesn't look right. or you just plain need help with.  We can work out whatever it is that is giving you grief.

My rate is a flat $50 per hour of instruction. The $50/hr rate includes simultaneous private instruction for yourself and up to two other people of your choosing (no charge for extra people). Lessons can be arranged in sessions of 1 to 3 hours duration each (2 hr minimum for first lesson).

If, after the first hour you are not 100% satisfied we can stop there and there will be no charge

Although I'm a reasonably competent Lightroom user, the file structure for the photos on my hard drive got mixed up when the computer OS was reinstalled and they became invisible to the LR catalog. Dan was able to sort out and update the structure from within Lightroom and got me up and running in half an hour, much to my relief. We spent the rest of the time talking about keyword hierarchies, a subject he is passionate and extraordinarily knowledgeable about. Dan listens closely and explains clearly. When I got home, I found several tutorials in my inbox that he'd written about subjects we discussed and I've used them since.

Dan teaches photography and complex software programs such as Lightroom. I initially took a 3 hour lesson for basic Lightroom editing after finding his ad on the internet. Initially we talked on the phone and I explained what I needed and he told me about his business and they way he operates. I knew then he was right for me to take a lesson on getting my LR up and running. Then, when I met him he was just as nice as he was on the phone.

Dan explained things in a logical way and went at my pace. He let me decide how I wanted Lightroom set up on my Mac and wasn't insistent to do things his way. He listened to hear exactly what I wanted to achieve and the end result I wanted. He explained things very well and provided appropriate rationale behind his suggestions. It became clear to me that he is very experienced and knows what he is talking about. Dan's recommendations were awesome and worked out much better than I would've ever done on my own.

Dan is very patient, easy to talk to and ask questions to. He doesn't intimidate or make you feel inferior if you are a novice and makes you feel right at ease in his lesson.

The environment he teaches in is clean, quiet and he gives you his full attention. Dan was able to get my computer set up to function with LR so I can begin editing the pictures I have taken over the years.

I had only planned to go for the one lesson, but it was so helpful I have gone back several more times to get additional instruction to learn LR editing tips as I wanted to take advantage of all I could learn from him. Dan is well worth the time and the cost. If you want to learn or improve in your photography or large computer programs like Lightroom, I highly recommend Dan as the instructor.

Dan helped me several years ago getting started with Lightroom. Went back to see him about backing up images, archiving images - when main hard drive filled up, reconnecting to "missing images" and setting up presets.

Dan provided explanation and instructions for all these issued in a clear, concise and easy to understand/follow manner. he also was able to give me some technical background info that helped me understand the rationale behind the Lightroom system.

All this in a little over an hour and then he followed up with email links to provide additional information.

Dan is one of the best instructors I have ever used.

I have been a Lightroom user for over 10 years, through multiple versions and formats. With over 100,000 images in my library it was taking over my computer and storage system. I needed help in organizing Lightroom on my computer, getting rid of unnecessary of files and optimizing the infrastructure.

Dan is a Lightroom Expert! He understands the nuances of how Lightroom is organized and was able to delete unwanted and unneeded histories, optimize the file structure and preferences and voila, I'm back to running Lightroom efficiently. I am a happy customer!
